Thread regarding Exterran Partners L.P. layoffs

BKA slowing down

BKA will be shut down the weeks of the memorial day and July 4th holidays. It will also be working 32 hours a week in the month of June.

No matter what happens I want to thank the BKA management team for doing their best to keep everyone they can.

If you went from no hours to an 84 Hour week, it sounds like the typical Exterran failure to Plan Properly. It's the 7 "P's"

Piss Poor Planning Produces Piss Poor Performance

Hope you find a good job when they divest......

Wow one person responded they had a hand in everything but didn't know about the mass unemployment filing? Really??? If you do have your hand in everything and didn't know then you are retarded. Management and HR has been talking about this for over a month. They filed a mass unemployment for one simple reason.......they made a deal with the state of Oklahoma so that the shut down on Memorial day would be the "waiting period" that is required by the state. This allows the employees to receive a full weeks benefits on the next shut down scheduled in July. It's not hard to understand they are doing the best they can to help employees.

Yes BKA management/HR can legally do a mass unemployment filing with the state and they did. Please don't comment about things you obviously have no clue what you are speaking of. The state promotes business to do mass filings when the schedule is known. It makes things easier on the employees and the state.

It would appear that the main office at this location is largely unaffected by the holiday work suspension,as its parking lot still has many cars. The shop on the other hand appears to be shut down, as its parking lot is empty today.

No activity in the yard today, plant closed. Very eerie and also very sad! Hope things speed up very soon.

I was at the meeting. It was Production people only. Half of the meeting was about the HR dept filing unemployment for everyone for the shut down weeks.

I have no idea what in the hell is going on here! A previous post mentioned verbatim "Yesterday we had a company wide meeting where the management team took it upon themselves to go ahead and file everyone for Unemployment during the shut down's". Well, I work at BKA and I certainly never heard about this meeting, and I have a finger on the pulse! Also the Management/Company can not sign you up for unemployment! That has to be done by the individual employee(s). As for BKA getting loaded up with PEQ work, that's a new one also. I seriously doubt the previous two post's will hold water.

Doubtful. PEQ is the only product line getting orders, and with the shutdowns of Columbus, Youngstown, Broussard, and Schulenburg, the PEQ orders have booked NHR and Brittmoore's capacities. PEQ will start loading up BKA. PEQ customers are getting frustrated with the lack of experience in these other shops and are turning away from Exterran. Guess those are the consequences of the great decisions made by management to shut down every single PEQ shop. Now we are struggling in Houston.

Yesterday we had a company wide meeting where the management team took it upon themselves to go ahead and file everyone for Unemployment during the shut down's "BECAUSE THEY CARE". There are too many ways that statement could be taken!! Point being that this is a prelude to the grand finale of BKA. The mention of a couple of jobs has been the underlying theme for the past 6 months and with all the involvement by both higher ups and mid level management to slow rumors and not upset the masses, it says one thing for me. We are getting shut down. I could be wrong and the sunshine could come through this Sh-T covered cloud and rain joyous rainbows of delightful providence upon us, but that is simply too extreme and optimistic. Like in multiple other posts on this site, Get your resume updated and jump ship while you can!! Sorry Broken Arrow, been a great place to work. You need a lot of work if you ever want to continue, both customers and proper staffing... (Palace is way overstaffed) and you have too.... TOO MANY BOSSES and not enough LEADERS.... If you don't understand the difference between the two then your one of the Bosses and no that is not a good thing.

The title of this post is misleading "BKA slowing down". It should read "BKA shutting down".

I agree, management is not your friend when it comes to these types of situations. Don't expect anyone to go to bat for you because it's not going to happen. A previous post suggested updating your resume and I agree that would be a very good idea at this time. Deep cuts are coming and it won't be just the shop personnel involved. There is a very valid reason so many BKA managers have opted to get out over the past 6 months.

Trust me the "management " is not in your favor. Columbus looks like a gosht town with the lights left on, and very soon BkA will be the same. The management is telling ya'll everything you want to hear to keep you there, to finish out the last days. Have you checked on your 401k and see if it's locked up. This is not only happing at Exterran but to all the oil and gas related companies. I spent 40+ years in field service and i retired just in time. IT IS WHAT IT IS and there is nothing you can do about it, my heart goes out to everyone who has busted thier assfor Exterran. Look at the value of thier stock and the announcements being put out by law firms in the last few weeks. Brad and the "gang" has got thier money, you can bet on that. Good luck. €:•)
