Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Turnas, the president of Whole Foods' new brand, told The New York Times he's tired of hearing rumors about the concept and what it will be like

Is he not the one who started these tumors?

HA HA! Exactly. Every real business leader is thrilled to answer questions about the business and happy with any chance at free publicity. Here's an example of how an ADULT handles a question: "Oh we know there are all kinds of discussions going on, and we're glad about that! We are excited that people are wondering what the new stores will be like. Well please come see us at the new locations and find out! We look forward to serving you and think you will be surprised and excited about the experience." NO REAL BUSINESS LEADER ever acts like a petulant spoiled brat when a reporter simply asks a reasonable question about a new concept. We're already tired of you too, Jeff.

So, what's your new business gonna be like?

"Stop asking these questions I'm tired of it", says NO SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS LEADER EVER.

Why doesn't he clear up the 'rumors'?? What is this kindergarten?

Go to the Career page, search for jobs at one of the 365 stores. It's truly bizarre: https://career4.successfactors.com/career?career_ns=job_listing&company=WFM&navBarLevel=JOB_SEARCH&rcm_site_locale=en_US&career_job_req_id=214543&selected_lang=en_US&jobAlertController_jobAlertId=&jobAlertController_jobAlertName=&_s.crb=XU6TQFBvmCUB%2bAAfpYSeiswd9DQ%3d

The concept behind these stores is so pandering and phony. The entrance looks like a f---ing six flags.

The main rumour is that it won't move the needle on sales and earnings one bit. That's probably the one he's tired of hearing. When they can't run 99.5% of their primary business properly, what makes them think that 0.5% of the business will run any better and even if it did, that it would MATTER? And that's the real reason they're frustrated. WFM just doesn't matter anymore. It's not relevant and no one is dying to know what Mackey, Robb or AC Gallo or Jeff think about anything. They're has-beens, losers and yesterday's news. Actually, yesterday's hype.

How whiny can he be? So he's "tired" of all the rumors, waah, waah, waah! Jeff Turnass, for anyone who doesn't know, is the inept former president of the UK Region. In five years all he managed to accomplish was to run that region into the dirt. One of his last acts was to lay off practically everyone in the UK Regional office. He should have been fired and hanging his head in shame for putting so many people out of work, but instead in true Whole Foods Market style they promoted him by handing the 365 project to him on a silver platter. He failed in the UK and he's not likely to do any better with the 365 stores. Based on that one factor alone, I'd say 365 hasn't got a chance.

Exactly. I believe it was announced in an Earnings report. Idiot leadership at work again.
