Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

bad behavior

We had over a dozen marketing guys, engineering directors & VPs go to Google IO this year.

Honestly, its great to see that our budgets still allow us to participate in industry conferences but IO is not a marketing meetup like CES or MWC and none of these guys have written any code in last 5 years nor will they do for rest of their lives -- so why do these "leaders" feel privileged enough to nominate themselves to go to a "developer conference" and not give a chance to the few remaining real hands-on engineers at junior titles in our organization.

The lack of accountability just sucks! The only accountability here is for meeting release milestones and CS targets even if we trample over our engineer's personal time to meet it.

Is there any sense of compassion & righteousness left in any of the senior leads?

What to you expect, when senior management see fit to pay themselves large "retention bonuses" while planning layoffs?

This is the tone they set and lower management follows.

The lack of accountability just sucks!

Start thinking more like a team player! At Qualcomm, "Team Player" means never having to criticize management because your bonuses are so large for shutting up while they raid the piggy bank ...

If I had you employee ID I'd put you PiP tomorrow !!!

If elected, Trump won't let Qualcomm proceed with its various corrupt business practices.

@xnr: you said it all.

The question is how long Q can these corrupt practices continue without being prosecuted? America is still a democracy; practices like these from Q should be prosecuted even if you have politicians in your pockets and billions in the bank.

You must be a new employee at Qualcomm.

"engineer's personal time, compassion & righteousness" does not exist in Qualcomm's vocabulary. Q is a corrupt sweatshop that is rotten to the core. Read some of the older post st on this web site that have information about incidents of engineers jumping from Q buildings and HR trying to keep it away from media and blaming them on the employees "personal problems", HR paying $7.5m settlement to SEC for bribing foreign officials with direct Involvement of a HR director, a VP going to jail for insider trading, using phony PIP's to replace older employees with cheaper H1B workers, using phony PIP's to get rid of employees who have dared to criticize company policies ...
