As Moore's law becoming less relevant the company should start thinking about splitting to several companies. Intel process becomes a burden and TMG can't tune its process to support more lucrative markets. Communications is a commodity - it may be carved away.

Split won't help. It's a stupid option generally brought up by Wall Street morons who know only two things - merge or split means fluctuation in stock price and they can make some money out of it.
Time to acquire TSMC? LOL. Amazing that they've promissed 10nm this year and 7nm next year. Would be interesting to see if they stick to it.
It's a funny situation:
The process is hurting the mobile chances to succeed.
The Mobile & Servers are hurting TMG chances to tune their process to where most products are and for cost.
You would expect a split will help the two entities but in my opinion after a split both will shrivel and die.
Jin Cramer thinks a split is exactly what's going to happen. That's why they are grooming Stacey Smith to take a spin-off
Tmg is arrogant. They [tmg leaders] are still living in the dope of past success. They deny that rest of the competition is advancing. They blame design teams for any failure. They bully design teams. I still wonder if our process is so good ( apart from being the smallest node), why didn't any external customer come to tmg through custom foundry initiative?
It's in the best interest of Intel to manufacture its products where it's most effective. There are many designs going to GF and TSMC. Soon processors will follow the same path.
Server is the only business that can support intel inefficiencies. TMG would be totally in competitive as a stand alone, would wager if they could many product groups would choose TMG as fab of choice, they have no choice at the moment
