Tell your Intel friends some Murthy stories

Please can you tell us what we are in for. Any anecdotes of typical Murthy are more than welcome

Murthy has an utopian view of software and hardware product cycle. He doesn't understand either one but he is good in accepting all customer requests without considering the complexity. His approach towards driving multiple modems and plug n play style approach towards hardware burnt out a lot of people. When hardware compatibility is less he would force it down the software team to execute it. Overall we are happy to see murthy leave. Not sure about our future but atleast there is a considerate view towards hardware and software scalability now. I can see things improving in modem execution after murthy,s departure.

I worked in his organization for a number of years. I did not directly interact with him, but the VP and Sr.director that were under him exhibited the exact same corrupt and sick behavior that -bek described. The culture of an organization always tricles down from the top. Over the years only the ones who exhibited the same sick behavior as him had been promoted and the good managers were eliminated or driven out. Eventually the modem group turned into a hell-hole, good people left, and it became a failure.

He is good in getting things executed, but the main thing is he does not understands is what needs to get executed (lack vision) . QC as a whole is ladder driven , corrupt company.

@bek: these are actually traits of a good businessman these days. Doesn't mean this is right.

He throws things and yells when the world doesn't work the way he wants it.

He will make decisions and then when they fail he will blame someone else.

He lies to his bosses so he can negotiate a huge bonus even though he knew there were major issues that were on the horizon.

I can go on for days. The ones above are the G rated ones I experienced.
