Cry babies crying about people with jobs are sad. Employed people should not want their paycheck! What a load of crap. Next time you get a job you may send me your paycheck since the work should be its own reward for you.
the only hope is for intel is to be the leader in producing quantum processors....until then its a dead end road for transistor based processors .

Look at the attitudes on display here. "I'm just in it for the golden paycheck". "I'll collect a salary while paying no attention to market conditions or long term career implications."

Pay check is goid, but as you get older it becomes harder to get a nice paying job somewhere else. Job is good, but a good career seems unlikely.
The paycheck is good and once let go I'll likely need to uproot family and move. So yes shoot me looser I'm still here.
When executives are asked and technologists are asked about the future they are always indirect and evasive and say things like "we can and have never been able to see more than a generation out" or " we are a few innovations away and we can never predict them" or " people have been predicting the end for years"
Don't you intel koolaid drinkers get it? What else can they say? Say that 10 mm has an almost certain probability of being very late and lower yielding and higher cost than any process in recent memory? The board and anyone in the company who speaks like that will be fired. There is the problem, how does one acknowledge there is a serious problem of no one can talk about it.
Nope intel will wallow like a fish in air at 10nm. Only look at 14nm and imagine something 10x harder with 2x less process margin.

How is IoT different from our flawed mobile strategy? They will pump money into it just like they did with smartphones, then realize that there are no margins. Samsung and Google already have their strategy to fabricate their own silicon. Look at the devices that are already out there. IoT isn't a new idea. There are many boards already in production. Do a google search on "IoT development board" and you will see devices selling for $10, $15.

BTW if anyone has motivation and money to push it is some companies with volumes in excess of a billion than some company that used to be the big swing dick but now produces less than 300 million units. Yeah some sell for thousand, but it is a repeat of IBM/DEC/MOT high ASP and low volume is a recipe for falling behind..
Now make me an argument that is compelling why you think Intel can cheat physics faster or better than the ARM folks, No need to share Intel secrets, like physics in Hillsboro is different than Hsinshu, Malta, Seoul, or Shanghai, LOL
15 years ago Intel had alternatives to keep Moore's law alive. X86 is shrinking exponentially.
Doubters will doubt. Who thought the cavs would win the national championship? So keep your assumptions to yourself. 15 years back peiple were have been saying Moorrs law will end in few years. And here we are in 2016 still going strong. There are innovations currently going on at Intel and why / how would you know when you are outside Intel.

Tell me answer to this.
1). What is the strategy of the company when Moore law ends
2). Other manufactures are two generations behind and thus when intel hits the physical wall all the other companies got two more generations of improved products coming like clock work while intel will have nothing. BTW how is 14nm doing and what happened to Tick Tock? I hear rumors of more than there generations on 14nm. Does that mean 10 is DOA and Tia intel already hit the wall?
3). Other manufactures have a business model where they get revenue from other process nodes and factoiries. Intel closes down old factories and has no such model and no revenue products on old nodes
