Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

You are totally innocent if you work at EDMC, as long as you mean well in your personal life.

Keep telling yourself that, as well as your children if you have any. Most of you have students regardless. What kind of a world do you want to live in?

EDMC stock at $0.01! 18 out of 50 Art Institutes closing and counting! Enrollment low all across the nation! For-profit industry in disarray: Westwood College, Corinthian and ITT Tech's doors are nailed shut!

If you think EDMC will be the sole survivor, the beacon of for-profit education, the last man standing...I have a Space Shuttle to sell you!

@I47o98a-4rys to answer the last question none, as in the early 2010s there was a discussion of concern of whether to standardize the curriculum nationwide or statewide to address the students concern of transferring to another Ai chain but that it earns credits differently, which therefore causes students to retake a class or apply to additional to make up for the credit they had earned previously. In the end they did not follow through with it.

Any college student worth their salt works hard and experiences some loss of sleep to get the best work done. If your teachers drove you to do that, well guess what? That's what any self-respecting teacher WOULD do. Success doesn't come easy. If it did, everyone would be successful.

Murder is about right, I've heard/witness some students nearly or had died from being over worked to death. I also had a near death experience myself from lack of sleep, energy drinks as my only diet, and my depression hit me hard so I was extremely under weight due to lost of appetite from stress.

Yep, I should understand how edmc employees shouldn't feel any guilt when they are "just doing their job". I'm sorry you're losing your job that destroy people's lives.

No matter how innocent your intentions are, if you work for EDMC, you are complicit in their activities. Meaning if you witnessed a murder and didn't stop it or report it, you are an accessory to murder.

Instead of taunting the soon-to-be-fired employees (not that I want to stop you), it be more productive to simply spread the reputation of the company everywhere. Sure it won't crush their souls, but I find it more effective to make sure they're backed against the wall no matter where they go, especially if they think they're off the hook and nothing bad would happened if they included their involvement on their resume.
