ISPs: OR Unemployment question

I applied promptly on June 1st. But they marked that week as well as the following week as "waiting period", may be because 1st week was only partial week ?

Is it same for everyone?

Yes - the state just wants to verify things before paying benefits. Intel hadn't responded after 29 days / multiple requests from my state, so I should receive a lump sum in the next week or so (for 5/31 - date).

I got my first weekly payment (CA) on Friday. Severance won't prevent Unemployment payments but you must report it, not as pay, as severance. Hang in there.

You should've applied starting from the day you turned in your badge. I did and got a few extra weeks of free money. The Oregon rules state that you can apply for unemployment when you no longer go in to office.

You likely made enough money in the week of 5/30-6/3/16 to not qualify that week. The next week 6/6/16-6/10/16 would be the one week waiting period.

So first week to for unemployment payment would be 6/13/16-6/17/16 with direct deposit payment around 6/21/16. (Which is when I got my first one). They will take out taxes depending on how you signed up for it. Other post below also correct, Intel has to confirm it to State Unemployment to start things but if they don't respond after 30 days state assumes you qualify and will start then. You don't have to burn off severance, only be post termination date which for ISP was 5/31/16.

Oregon requires one week waiting period before they send u money for wk 2. Read rules carefully. U have to apply every week and document you're looked for work or the process stops.

At least in my state, the folks at unemployment want to verify that the payment is severance vs. salary. They sent the inquiry to Intel and, of course, Intel hasn't responded. They only give them so long and then they begin providing your UI payments.

Let us know if you Get any money. I am under the impression that they calculate how long the severance package lasts and they start paying after.
