Intel gets sharper and faster

With the exit of all slow-performers, non-performers, the outlook for Intel has become way more positive. Of course, there are some old folks still around, but they will either compete with young and restless RCGs,

either get thrown out once the new quarterly performance assessment (improved ACT) system comes into effect (with HR and Legal contractors). The old workforce with old memories and tons of attitude issues can enjoy till then. Once the new process starts, you old guys will get thrown out like trash, and used as piñatas. :)

Of all the people I've met during my six years with Intel, there are five people who NEED to be let go, only one is gone.

In my little slice of hell, Intel didn't shoot themselves in the foot. They shot themselves in the head.

The mistake some of the OP make is that Intel got rid of "slower" or "low performers" and that is far from what happened. Being as you can't fix stupid there's no need to explain to the dumb @$$ OP what is happened. What I can tell you is that Intel has just set itself behind for the next 6 to 10 years. This past year will be a hard road to recover from for Intel. At best Intel starts a new course and it pushes forward positively. At worst Intel will be fighting from behind. If you see Intel shutting down core projects or selling off business...Intel is way behind. This next year will really say a lot. The OP may be the next to be laid off if Intel doesn't rebound.

It depends on what management perceives as performance. At the minute though, performance seems to be stage shows, vaporware and talk. How long can company survive with such kind of performers ? When BK became CEO, thinking was he will cut thru all the BS. But BS has only increased. Doers are losing, takers are winning.
