Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Any VSP accepted folks still interviewing?

How is it going? There are many fake jobs outta there where you get called in for interview and do pretty well and they say no. WTF is going on? I feel stuck doing a favor to companies doing Perm labor certification for their internal hires and interviewing out candidates fake! They should stop wasting our time and be honest.

@1dzm so these guys are interviewing Us the locals and then saying no without explicitly good reason to prove they tried a local. Any investigators looking to this issue? It must be very hard to prove anything :(

Sometimes you need to prove there are no local candidates in order to process a foreign candidate

Be patient, but count yourself fortunate you are looking now versus when the next large flood of layoffs happen next year.

Don't get discouraged. One month is very little time

Supply and demand.

There are lots of engineers on the market after the layoffs. Employers can afford to be picky.

I have an offer from every interview, not VSP, lower than dog $hit in my old employers eyes, but pretty good to everyone else, LOL.

They already have someone in mind for the position so the rest is just acting like they're interviewing.

Many folks at Intel recieved verbal offers before the job has been posted.

A third world in disguise!

I thought having a green card was a big plus. The last startup i interviewed was kind of surprising. I did my whole PhD in their product design and still got a very vague no thanks response without clear explanation as to why. Still trying to digest the time i wasted with them.

Use those a practice. There is lot of that. Once you get a job, you will value this search experience.

It seems they want you to be 100% match to the job description. Not even 90%.

OP here: Want to mention that with amazonlab126 the interview went very well over the phone and at the end they did not proceed. I felt as if they used my time and expertise to get free consultation for their products. Interviewees beware!
