Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Better check on your Cobra insurance.

My last day on the payroll was June 13th. I finally got my ADP paperwork on July 8, 2016 and mailed it back July 11th. As of this past Thursday the 21st, ADP still said they did not have my paperwork or check. Finally yesterday, July 25th they acknowledged receipt. Unfortunately they only showed me signing up for the health insurance and not the dental and vision. They showed me having health and a credit of $104. After checking, they admitted they made a mistake and they would correct it. They hope for me to have insurance in another 3-4 days but it may take longer than that to get he vision and dental. PS: make sure you keep a copy in case they mess yours up too.

The paperwork I received for supplemental insurance etc says coverage ends the day employment ends and you can enroll with a met life plan but you aren't automatically enrolled.....I haven't received any past due bills so I'm not sure why others have....?

I did mines online... if you are making any changes to what you currently have to you or your spouse's coverage then yes you must mail it in... other than that it took no more than 5 minutes.

I tried to enroll online but was not able too. You can only access online once your account is set up. And you can't set up your account unless you do it manually. These folks are old school.

Why didn't you just enroll online? It's quicker and you don't need to worry about making and saving copies of anything.

Everyone should also cancel any Chvron basic and supplemental life insurance if they no longer want to be paying the premiums. It's up to the employee to inquire and cancel coverage. Once you are 60 days past due, you'll be getting reminder letters of past due premiums. Call 1-888-TALK2HR.

OP, I'm glad ADP received your paperwork and you have medical insurance. The obvious message to everyone is MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING. One other thing, Chevron only subsidizes your COBRA medical, not dental or vision. As a Chevron retiree, you will qualify for retiree dental and vision coverage (only during Open Enrollment period). In Oct/Nov, don't forget to check this out. It's slightly less than what ADP COBRA premiums cost.
