I got laid off back in March and it was the best thing ever for me. That place started to s--- the life out of me back in Dec 2014 when the 1st email was sent out talking about reorganization and rif's.
I don't know why you would want to resign. Look for something better now that you are still employed (if you don't have anything yet), and in the meantime hope that they fire you. Don't let them have your money for free. In other words, if you quit they don't have to pay you anything, but if they lay you off they do have to pay you.
Don't let anger blind you. Be smart, and make the best of it.

Start looking for something else as if you weren't working right now. At work keeep saying how you have nothing to do. They will lay you off. Not gonna keep someone around who has no work.
