Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

WFM is fodder for the competition!

Here is a synopsis from Forbes: 54 percent of WFM stores have one or more Kroger within 5 miles - 75 percent of WFM stores have one or more TraderJoes within 5 miles - 84 percent of WFM stores have a Costco within 10 miles. Folks we are on a downward spiral as the competition is too intense. Our CEOs and execs are chasing their tails. The truth is, we have never been proactive, but reactive. WFM does not fend well with competition. Your thoughts ???

It's true. If you've worked on the sales floor you understand. We have always been known for our Customer Service, which made up the increased costs on our products. Customers will drive past competition to see familiar and knowledgeable faces. Now that these faces have been fired, have quit in disgust, or were laid off, why bother? Kroger has almond milk now, probiotics, chobani yogurt, an increasingly large international section. Etc, PLUS they have some ex-WFM TMs too. The next 2-3 years are gonna get really bad, I'm so glad I left last year.

WFM is doomed! 365 will face the exact same market pressures and is being led by the same idiots that drove WFM into the ditch so that's doomed too.
