Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Furloughs .

Furloughs they are coming to contractors by the end of September to October. So glad I have an understanding boss in my chain of command. He/She knows I am a widow with teenageers and can not afford taking another 80 hour pay cut. When I got told of the up coming furloughs I have been able to do nothing but control my anger, how can BofA treat humans like cattle. I have given 20 years of my life to this place, 19 as an FTE and 1 as a contractor within TI. We should band together and the day the furloughs drop all contractors walk out. Sure they could replace some but most contractors I know have 10 plus years with BofA, try to find that Riley!!!!!!

Just got let go. Contractor... 7 weeks into an 11 month assignment. Project in total chaos. I'm rehireable, but would think hard about working for them again.

I'm sorry you're in this situation but that is the risk with contracting and it may be out of your sympathetic manager's hands. BAC isn't loyal to employees so it is not too much of a stretch to know that there is absolutely no loyalty to contractors. I turned down a contract role with BAC on pure principle. Wouldn't go back to BAC for any reason because of the way they treat people and I stopped being a customer 3 days after my layoff. Left 401k at ML until the March true up and then moved that too. If everyone they laid off did the same thing, it would be a significant negative impact, especially if you consider that the people being laid off are the higher paid long time resources.

@IH6Xl8Q-2bbv, just as SHE is likely to take a back handed deal that benefits her at the expense of the American people and make policies that benefit her cronies in exchange for all kinds of favors!

This is how they are making earnings regardless of who is in office. They are shot cutting everything regardless of the consequences, it will bite them in the a-- sonnet rather than later

Once again, the idea not Trump will not ship a job out as soon as he finds a way to do it cheaper is laughable . He is a business man, there is a reason his ties are made in China and not in Oklahoma.

He's not a madman! But whatever he is, at least he is better than voting in someone that's known to be a criminal and a liar such as Hillary!

Voting for Hillary is a vote for outsourcing and more Indians i.e maintain the status quot! You will have to vote for Trump for things to at least change and then improve...

I won't be surprised if the bank is planning another Org-wide layoffs, but so far it has been pretty quiet in our area. Please vote for Hillary - America's Wonder Woman, and not the other guy. I can't stand the ramblings of a madman.

That s---s! I am also with BofA and I have heard rumors within my team that we are facing layoffs. We should connect to discuss our options. If you give me your last name I can look you up in the system so we can speak.

Has nothing to do with politics, trump has been outsourcing for years in the name of business. If you think that under Trump things will change, your kidding yourself.

This is just a taste of what's to come if the Dems win in November! Things are going to get so much worse... This is why big Wall Street execs and some investors support the Dems, it's a kind of job protection for the big guy strategy.

The smart move is to go contracting somewhere else. If you stay at BAC you will be furloughed for 2 to 3 weeks. BAC will do that entire oh when you come back you need to take a pay cut like last year.

Yep, it's the business of making money! Take it from where you can get it and let it flow to the bottom line to justify another fat cat salary!

Unfortunatelly they do it to contractors every year. It's not personal, it's business. I'm sure they'd do the same to employees if possible.
