You cost about 50-60 $/hr plus a few $$ for benefits, but your hourly rate (depending on where you report) can be as high as 260-300 $/hr for an INTERNAL customer, more for external....for each engineer there are a bunch of admins on overhead, managers, lab facilities, etc., etc., supported by this hourly rate of a modestly paid (less than market) engineer....Zero trust to the abilities and education of engineers (many of them with a security clearance), we need a bunch of slackers to control, approve their time cards, and "lead" them......that's how you end up with this chaos....

Mexicali low-cost engineers might not be as experience as US engineers but they must be doing something right and they will eventually become experience. Can you become low-cost engineer??? If not, then evolve, globalize, or get out the way.

From a previous poster: "There are some of us who know how to spell "Mexicali" "

Some can just spell "Mexicali" but a lot more don't know to do engineering work correctly.

From a previous poster: "There's good engineers in mexali?"

There are some of us who know how to spell "Mexicali" -unlike you- so yeah, there's a slight chance that some of these guys are more detail oriented thus better engineers than you.

Those 15 in Mexicali are making room for the jobs coming from Torrance.

I think it s---s that Honeywell keeps people hanging on without telling the ones that volunteered if they have been picked. Also, VP says only that layoffs will be done in third quarter which could mean another six weeks before people know their fate.

I hate to hear of people and their families dealing with this. No matter where you are. I am dealing with it, and sending positive thoughts to the future impacted and displaced workers. Kindest Regards
