recently go new VP in hillsboro and now everything else is going down the drain, eliminate this bastard

and other useless managers and let the people thats doing all the hard work get this company get going

again. We have managers and their little kiss asses just sitting around while other people are working

hard to get things going.

RIFs always done as a drip feed in O' so it doesn't get flagged up to the markets. Probably got rid of more than Cisco are planning over the last 6 months.

Anyone in HW support attended Keith's townhall on Thursday? Any news? Townhall when Oracle is cutting HW staffs in the day?

Actually they are just now realizing they have to shed bodies and be nimble to survive a few more years...the downill march that will turn into a death march in approximately 3 years time. Good luck and have a plan b and c is the way through these next several months to a year at least.

RIFs in most hardware areas and locations as I understand it.

Fowler and staff are the same management that ran Sun into the ground.

Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Not sure what else could have happened.

Hardware sales have been in a steady march downhill.

Engineers are sacrificed because management is antiquated and out of touch with market AND staff.

Some dead wood might be lost BUT it is management's responsibility to provide opportunity and incentive for growth. Engineers that did find work elsewhere in hardware were not allowed to transfer. Hard to be motivated when by all appearances they were purposely letting you die on the vine. Oracle has never made it onto a "best place to work" list for a reason. Free at last, free at last... There is a better world out there.

Current HW org structure is sub-optimal. Oracle missed many good opportunities to boost HW sales

Oracle needs to move fast. Morale is very low. Everyone that is still employed is just hacking the system to justify their job.

They need to dump Fowler. He's wasted millions on the failed Amber Road product.

--- agree

One Folwer = 1000XEngineers

Oracle HW cannot compete with Dell or HPE. It's twice as much and the service is mediocre at best. How do you sell knowing that the competition is much cheaper? Good luck to all who are still employed.

There's no need for such a large hardware business esp as it underperforms.

MH will cut the ex-sun in half slowly but surely through consolidation's. Look at his track record at HP.

Honestly, Oracle HW can do with 1/2 staffed. Most has title but do very little for Oracle. The forest needs to be cleared of dead wood. Problem is Ex-Sun management will not chop themselves but customer facing engineers...sad but true.

There are no announcements at all (as per usual) - we only know of our 'local' groups (4 out of 150), and what we hear from others. Bounced emails won't be happening for weeks.

Just checked with my, still working, buddies and no-one has any updates or news on this subject. They are in Colorado, so I can not confirm this as of today.

That's exactly what he said. Oracle upper management is piss poor.

So what you're saying is that the hit squads will be ongoing and people should once again put their lives on hold because upper management is retarded?

Restructuring over the next 30 days in Oracle hardware division, some changes in other groups. The impact is worldwide, and many talented individuals are being RIFfed.

For what it's worth, this was inevitable once ORCL acquired JAVA...
