Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

How many people....?

How many people does it take to bring a company to the brink of bankruptcy?

18,001 - one hugely inept CEO and 18,000 people with which to share the experience.

Whoops...

16,001 - one totally inept CEO and 16,000 people clinging to the life rafts.

No....wait a sec

15,001 - one totally useless and clueless CEO and 15,000 innocent bystanders at a drive-by shooting.

Well crap. I'll never get this joke right.

Bring the expats home and save the company a couple positions in Canada.

Conoco has the same number of employees ExxonMobil has in its upstream but only 1/3 of the production. Upstream production per employee is very low compared to the XOM benchmark.

A bad CFO can do the job quite adequately with the help of an inept Controller Dept. The CEO acts on data provided by these.
