. My store has been pretty supportive, Getting trained at some stores for seafood. I enjoy learning an want to use it to pad my resume. And I got a fat raise because of it
Seafood Team Leaders that know nothing about butchering in charge of Meat departments. Prepared Foods Team Leaders that know nothing about baking in charge of Bakeries... most of the TLs I know are overworked and under trained, and completely miserable
It's horrible. Zero direction or support. Classic WFM putting the cart before the horse. No systems of infrastructure in place to create a seem less transition. Nothing new I guess.
Just show up do my job and move on. If u lower your expectations of this company and view it as a job and nothing more you'll get by a lot easier.

What about floral which is under produce I think that the company is really shortsighted when it comes to flowers.
there are not many grocery stores that have the nice selection of flowers that are inexpensive that we have. And local We do weddings,we do proms, but we could also be doing funerals. The company doesn't want to give us the room, tools, or the labor
Oh well there is always thumbtack And Wegmans does do funerals and they are expanding ! My advice to Wegmans is to never go Public/stock market!
The Meat/Seafood merger is a natural thing and seems to make sense and work great. Same goes for prep foods and bakery merging. Grocery and whole
Body merger makes less since than the other two but it is working, just not perfectly because of the different knowledge needed. Specialty merging with grow body is what it is, not ideal but nothing that can't be visualized. Produce is by itself which makes since but could possibly make more since merging with specialty since they both have very perishable items and need a specific knowledge. I've held practically all
positions in different stores at one point in my last few WFM decades and I can easily say that Front end is our store identity, when we forget that and start attempting to merge that team then it's over. Morale will drop and identity will be lost, we will become every other big box soul-less store. That is the consensus with those I talk to who have witnessed it all and discussed it with numerous TLs. I hope that gives you some insight into where everyone I know who is dealing with this head is at.
