New car is in the garage. Six years of payments ahead of me. Please turn it around EDMC so I can remain employed. Unlike others, I have faith in the current management team!

What kind of car is it? I'm always looking for a good price on a repo!
Liberal or conservative... Your complicit to fraud!
Yeah right 1vzh. We can smell EDMC shills a mile away. Go collect your silver.
1vzh, where did you get the idea that I work at a company that pollutes the environment? I work for a non profit that's been in operation for over 20 years serving the community. So stay focused on your car payments and how well you do your job and putting food on your family's table while other family's have no food because they were inexperienced enough to do business with you. In the meantime the rest of us, who care about the common good, will continue to fight against predatory organizations that exist solely for the purpose of profit to the detriment of the communities they leach off of.
Very funny about the farm animals Moonlighting wannabe!
I am good at my job but I don't know what you mean about the "real world." My job is as real as any other. My skills are transferable but I have no desire to do anything different. If the company goes under, as many on here predict, I will be there to close the doors. The company has been good to me for many years so I see no reason to look for greener pastures at this time. Oh, geez! Did I really bring this post back around to farm animals? Too funny!
Oh... and I like farm animals! VERY PASIONATELY! Everyone has their weaknesses!!!

I just love the liberal crap that is spewing forth is this thread. Somehow, I should be held responsible for the fact that the federal government made the decision years ago to allow students attending for-profit colleges and universities to use federal grants and loans.
To the person who thinks that I should be more concerned about the American people and future generations than in making my car payment... what are your motivations as far as your employer is concerned? Does your company pollute the environment? My guess is that it does. So, how dare you think more about putting food on your family's table (or making your car payment) than about the environment!
To the person who thinks I am part of a PR stunt to keep instructors from jumping ship... where did you ever come up with that? I am just an employee who wants to be able to continue going to work every day. I don't deceive anyone, I don't lie, cheat, or steal. I love what I do and I am good at it. That's it. No more to the story.
Blah blah blah. The world is not fair...would you rather federal money go to supporting more immigrants that come here and over burden our education and health care system. At least those in debt through for profit education gave it a try. There are winners and losers...I don't work to take care of anyone but my own family. We are on our own. You Bernie supporters..lost. I am not paying for anyone's kids but my own to go to college. There should be no free meal tickets. Work hard...and you will succeed. There are a lot of good drawers..just like there are a lot of talented athletes but only a fee succeed. The others find jobs that pay the bills and live life.
Well said IRS6plN-1noh. I suspect though that the original poster's comment is part of a small PR stunt designed ( in a pathetic sort of way ) to rally just enough support to keep current EDMC instructors from deserting this rapidly sinking ship. I can tell you right now that it hasn't worked.
And you're right. Greed has no place in education at any level. Corporate America has, for the most part, failed in its bid to dominate Higher Education and has now turned its sights on Elementary and High School where the opposition isn't nearly so fierce.
Keep your powder dry.
Again, look at this individual's priorities. What motivates them is an ability to make their car payments, not what's in the best interests of the American people. The federal government has lost billions in federal aid to the for profits. How will this impact future generations? When the federal government is doling out federal money, what's in the best interest of the American people needs to be the first priority. These colleges are losing federal money that could be used elsewhere to benefit the citizens of this country. (Well, they're not exactly losing the money. They are keeping it.) Refusing to acknowledge wrongdoing isn't just delusional, it's dangerous, because every day this individual is going to work and playing with hundreds of thousands of dollars of our money. For profit education is driven by greed. We can't have education driven by greed it doesn't work and loses billions in taxpayers money. So, original poster, I don't know you, I don't have anything against you personally, but I really hope you won't be able to make your car payments for much longer.
Wow; didn't see that coming. I think this site may be dead as well.
There's a wealth of evidence that backs the government's case. EDMC made promises it couldn't keep. I heard ADA's make such promises to prospective students. This is why there's no room for corporations in education. In order for them to run For Profit schools, they have to sell something and, in this case, that something is a job. Again, State run colleges and universities don't make such promises. You go to college and hope the experience preps you for a job. EDMC did make those promises and that's why the government attacked them. That's why EDMC and all the For Profits schools are collapsing.
We'll know the extent of EDMC's collapse in a few days.
Guys, the argument is over. The students are gone. The stock is worthless. EDMC is dead
You are wise beyond your years 1wke. There are no promises of jobs; no promises that credits will transfer; and no promises that everyone graduates.
And... for the record... only supportive posts with correct grammar and spelling are posted by me. Some idiot must like my name and feels the need to us it in his/her own posts. No meth for me; however, I do love Kool Aid :)
The admissions people have been following a script for the last 5 years and there is nothing said about a promise of a job. Some people shop for full price at Walmart when they could find better quality and better price at Macy's on sale. Who is responsible for stupid people? A star struck person can not be reasoned with..a parent wanting their kid to have a degree for the sake of having any sort of degree..I blame a culture that thinks a college degree is the end all
Argosy does not have MFA degreesv. Any person that signs on the dotted line without research deserves what they get. I feel no rem14orse for them. They should have chosen a vocational school. Who in their right mind could take art classes on line and think that is enough. Your only critic is the other guy in his mom's basement that think he is a great artist.
To some extent, I agree with you IRS6plN-wmt. The problem is that EDMC made promises to these students that there'd be a job at the end of the rainbow. That's part of the government's case against EDMC's predatory practices. State run colleges and universities make no such promises. That's why the For Profit model doesn't work. That's why EDMC is about to collapse.
If you are a student that couldn't find a job you couldn't find one no matter what school you attended. You are another entitled millennium. Jobs aren't like the soccer trophy you got when you were 10. You have to work hard and be the best. Watch the Olympics from your mamas basement to learn something. Wait..it isn't a video game.

I love stupid students and taking money from taxpayers illegally.
The posters in this thread are kind of uptight. All gloom and doom about the company but I don't see anything happening. It's a nice place to work and the students who put forth their best effort do well. I don't get what all the fuss is about.
It's true. You really can smell the stench of EDMC shills over the internet.
Wow.
It's too late for all this. Go peddle your claptrap somewhere else.
