@apft, then what will the SCL do? What is left of the position?

In NorCal, the SCL (Store Creative Lead) position is going to be under the Customer Service Team, just like the Store Scanning Specialist is. No more marketing or creative chalk in the stores is very, very, very, very, sad. :(
Has anyone heard about anything going on with the Store Scan Specialist position being cut soon. It seems that we are teaching everyone how to do our job. Print tags, print signs, make Orchard tickets, making audits more user friendly.
In the NA region, in any stores where there are two artists left, there will be interviews in September for the solo SGA position. Whomever does not get the job will be offered severance. There was also a PowerPoint document they sent around a few months ago that mentioned that the SGA position would be eventually be going metro. Everything that's going on (reduced creative projects, more digital signage in stores, more teams producing their own signage), tells me the SGA position will not exist at all by next year. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted!
Severance. Really!? Seriously.... They started with the marketing team, in October, before the Holidays.
Severance was offered only then, because it was the first wave of layoffs BEFORE the Holidays last year. They wanted you all to feel safe, do your job, not worry.
Who needs this kind of stress? Don't you just want a secure job, one you know is valued, that you are valued? It isn't here. Whole Foods is gone.
Are people being offered severance or just expected to apply against other candidates and then if they don't get given the boot? Seems like they would do initial severance offerings to The SGA, MCTL, Retail Program People. Hopefully this is not another false allegation.
I was told by STL that 2017 is going to be a very rough year for whole foods. I would bet money that the sga position going away entirely.
As of today, all Retail Specialist Positions in the PNW are eliminated. They will have 9 months to decide if they want to become a Front End Supervisor or find another position elsewhere in the store. After that time is up the position will be completely eliminated and any RPS still in the roll will be let go without severance. The Metro Creative Team Lead Position is also being eliminated with those in that roll being transitioned into regional graphic designers. Store Graphic artists will then be expected to reduce chalk production (for its inefficiency) and increase print production. They will no longer be expected to be involved with any sort of custom in store design and will essentially be printing what the regional graphic designers will give to them. All program execution on a store level will be performed by the store graphic artists. SGA's will also be transitioning to the Front End yet will not be entered into Kronos but instead schedules will be added in after the fact (presumably ensuring near similar workweeks and two day weekends for SGA's?). SGA's will not be expected to ring for the front end but we will see.
artists will probably be kept on the dark again until the last minute when they are laid off
Yes. As in the previous comment, creative duties have been reduced to hanging posters. It's a superfluous position now, especially with the merge of Admin/FE, and the eventual loss of the PBS. All they really need is SSS and receiving.
It started being phased out when they started phasing it out
