Is there any talk about getting rid of FE TL position? I just doesn't make sense to merge admin with front end when they are not going to help out at all on the sales floor. I'm in the south region. They are also making every store get a second ATL in FE which is not need in most stores. That's what leads me to believe the TL position is getting eliminated. They are feeeding me bs about me having more shifty shifts and doing other duties of an ASTL but no ASTL money. So that's why a second ATL is needed because I won't be involved in my own team as much. Sounds fishy to me...can onyone confirm or have heard any rumors?

Didnt walmart lay off a bunch of office and regional people recently?maybe some hope here that all those coordinators will get downsized and put on the front lines working "open availability "
Walmart, we just hired two of their execs- one from Walmart and one from Sam's Club.
-3qik, I feel like it's too late. We are WalMart, we just can't admit it.
I'm not a front end TL but put me in the camp with all those saying that would be a huge mistake. Of all the teams in any store, they set the tone and the morale. If you take that away then the culture of the store crumbles and there is no going back. We then become wal mart.
in 10 years TLs will be earning 13-15 per hour, and there won't be any ATLs. probably sooner.
The same thing was said about the PBS job ... "constant issues to deal with" ... "no down time" ... "need to be organized and have to be great with TM issues" ...
And guess what? PBSs are already cut in half and will likely be completely gone by next year. The biggest mistake you can make is to assume that your job is the one that will never be touched when EVERY OTHER JOB IS BEING CUT.
Yeah, 1nsg, you're an idiot! (Can you hear me razzing you?)
1nsg- You're an idiot. You obviously have no idea all that goes into being a FE TL. That was the last job I had and it was by far the most exhausting and difficult. There are constant issues to deal with, there is no down time, you really have to be organized and you have to be great dealing with TM issues on a constant basis. If you think Kronos and R10 are making life easier, ask someone in FE. Idiot. If the FE TL goes then good luck, you'll have a disaster on your hands.
Why would they keep em if they are getting rid of all the other TL's???? With kronos,r10 and the simplification of cash office who needs em? Just have an astl do the time and attendance and make schedule adjustments with atl and supervisors.
Here in FL there is no talk of eliminating the FE TL. And we have been trending towards less FE ATLs, not more. Apparently different regions are going about the combo thing in different ways. The bottom line is there will eventually be a reduction in force and some of us will lose our jobs. This is part of the 9 point plan outlined in an earnings call back seven to ten months ago. Back to your Front end question: What has been said is that when stores go to the new combined team format there will no longer be a separate Admin team. The affected Admin TMs will become members of the Front end team and will be on your schedule: graphics, receiving, and maintenance (janitorial). In FL the SSS (store scanning specialist) position was moved from Admin to Front end already, I think within the last year. I don't know what the perceived benefit is to eliminating Admin; maybe it results in less gainsharing, and I guess the ASTLs will no longer have to deal with a lot like: hiring, reviews, scheduling, supervision, etc of those TMs. Obviously, store leadership will remain separate and will not become part of the FE team.
I don't know anything for sure, but read somewhere on here a new store opened with the ASTL overseeing FE with 2 ATLs so it might be true. I'd say if they're pushing you into an ASTL role that's probably where it's headed.
pretty sure they'll get rid of your ATLs first, and have you writing the whole admin schedule every week. oh, and cutting your own hours to make labor to cover for the salaried folks in store leadership - like we've already been doing anyway. south region as well.
