Dismantle DDS Cedar Park engineering. NP - No Product development. Sr Engineering director should be fired. He drove this organization to ground by for example hiring incompetent managers who has no engineering management skills.

Problem with Cedar Park NOV engineering is the Sr. Director who is at best is an incompitant dumb a--. Engineering VP in Norway is clue less. NOV need to put this group under D&I engineering management.

Why? Because it's not easy to hire talented or even competent people at a oil facility. Places like nov usually end up with the bottom of the barrel, especially in a hot job market like cedar park / Austin

NOV donated 5 years worth of salary, benefits and bonus to this old hound. This stupid did what he can to drive the engineering group down to ground. Why did NOV hired this incompitant basted after he was fired from Dell?

My next door neighbor reported to this same manager at his previous company. I have heard some good stories about his lack of performance there too. He was fired from that company and he come over to NOV and did the same things. The one example that I liked most was that he made some statements to this engineer that were upsetting, then when he was asked about them by his manager he denied them. Unfortunately for him it was all in black and white on a IM chat log.

A similar thing happened to me where he told me to reach out to some other managers and get information about an advancement opportunity. When I did as he suggested, and those managers asked him about it, he denied it. He said I misunderstood him and that he didn't say what I thought I heard.

NOV needs to do some house cleaning and this was a good place to start.

Would question the initial involvement from HR in the first place, in getting through the initial selection process, and even when promoted, the actual promotion selection process (as well as Line Manager selection & decision making abilities).

NOV should be more careful hiring. Why did company hire this person. No technical skills. Do not know how to make a decision because of lack of engineering management experience. Because he was bad being an engineering manager NOV promoted him to a director. Someone needs to look into his managers skills and decision making ability.
