Sadly, the water-cooler talk among employees is only about who is going to get laid off next and who is going to fill the positions left by people who are now gone. Toward that end, most are - outwardly at least - highly enthusiastic about whatever won't get them fired.
Even if the new direction made sense, which it doesn't, the fear instilled by ACT plus the lack of trust and belief in BK, Murthy, Bryant or any of these clowns by rank-and-file employees will ensure far from optimal execution.
Last I checked our fabs were full of PC and server chips, actually 95% were chips destined to go into clients ( Desktop and laptop ).
Can someone who still works at the friggen company tell me how we spend millions of fluff and media/PPT etc. on new initiatives of which Intel has NO chips that can meaningfully compete here.
Can someonen in the audience, at the next BUM please ask your manager or BK himself when is the first real VR, or IoT is coming with intel inside. The history with phones, tablets, and Mica suggest Intel doesn't have a clue into designing competitive low power, value, and desirable products.
I am open to learning new things, can someone tell me what is different now. What is being done different on the product side, design, side, marketing side, technology side that Intel doesn't do a rinse and repeat of waste billions like the last times.
The definition of insanity, when you let the same monkeys try and do the same thing again and again and expect a different result.

Translation: You're on notice employees, if Intel fails to make this transition from being PC-centric it's all your fault.
Reality: If IoT, self-driving cars and VR remain industry hype of the next big catalyst, wishful thinking, and not huge markets, Intel will fail and it will be the fault of the Board and executive staff lead by BK.
