Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

IF you're AFFECTED, post here

Post here your grade, # of years of service and what role you were in (Eng, Sales, IT, etc.).

I suspect we may see a trend here.

God, am I the only Grade 6?

I think they tricked me into training my replacement for a month.

Grade 10. Too many years - Eng / QA. Was told by my Indian manager that my position is eliminated (not performance related) while he has at the same time opened a req and hired an Indian H1-B fresher this week!

I'm counting down to my 1:1, which I'm expecting to be notifying me that I'm laid off. Here's my question though: How the heck to I find out my grade level just to sure? I think I'm grade 9, but I'm damned if I can figure out where to confirm that?

Grade 9: Just got my 1:1 invite.. I am happy though, I can get a job in a few weeks with equal pay. Tired of Cisco's crap anyway. Never have to watch another Cisco Beat

I was laid off in February of this year. The package was three months pay and then a week for every year over 10. They give you COBRA money and services to transfer your 401K and few other things. In my area Cisco had just bought Lancope and I was encouraged to go there, but I declined and went to another company.

Honestly, I'm happy to not work at Cisco any longer. My team was awesome, but the leadership has been declining for a long time. Good luck with your meeting tomorrow.

"California law firm warns Cisco employees: Do not sign severance agreement" because the California law firm is welcoming new walk-in business from new x-CSCO folks. All kidding aside, I agree. Sound (employment) law advice should be sought whenever signing anything from an offer acceptance to a severance agreement.
