How late (in days) LR 1:1 can be scheduled/ notified if you are affected by current LRs (For US)? What happens if direct managers are on PTO?

Everybody in my group got 1:! meeting sent about a week before. For those who got LR'ed they were told so. Those who didn't get LR'ed were also told that.

If your mgr is on PTO, then you have to wait till he/she comes back.

I got cut with another company and made the successful jump over here, but will never forget the mass layoffs at my old company (NT). Calls would generally occur on Thu mornings around 10am; in the beginning it was all formal with your boss and a HR rep and an hour to get it done / at the end it was usually done in a room full of people in 10 mins. When I got cut in 2014, all my teammates had 1:1s schedule at 9 and 10 etc the day before. I never got one and I was thinking I was clear. Then at 2:53 the day of, the new manager schedule a 1:1 for 3:00 and cut me. I think it's partly to do with how responsible and competent you manager is.
