Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are a shell game - here's my proof

During the layoffs of summer of 2012, I actually resigned and put in my notice just before the announcement of layoffs came out. I went back to my manager and offered to be laid off, without a package, just to save someones job. He said "NO" because he would lose headcount (since I was resigning he would be able to backfill me). What a POS - and then guess what - within just TWO WEEKS he left RTP and relocated backhome to India to work for Cisco in a different group (still in Services) there within 2 weeks. He knew this and could have saved someone's job and chose not to.

The company is culturally bankrupt.

Typical Indian manager, only thinks of himself. You were only there to help him get promoted

In the olden days Cisco was allowed to do the right thing. I have seen it.

"culturally bankrupt" - best assessment I've seen posted on this entire thread so far and agree totally.
