AI Pay issues anyone else?

Every time I have extra hours, due to special events or subbing for full time teachers that are allowed to vacation in the middle of the quarter, it takes them two or even three pay periods to give me the money I worked for. This even happens when my hours have bern submitted way before the end of the pay period, when payroll has not even been closed, hours approved and so on. But if you have an issue and they have to deduct hours, you will see that in your next pay check...

Has anyone experienced this?

Yeah, I get it. I subbed myself and then found the pay was something like $25.00 an hour. It's no better at any other school but I might let it be known at other schools that you're a reliable sub. it might get your foot in the door.

Just a thought.

The checks have not bounced yet. I understand the "do not sub" suggestion that was given above, but I just needed the money. Trust me I have been looking very aggressively because these two segments rule has me on a tight budget now. We are at a point where there are not enough qualified Chefs to teach classes and some bachelors have been taking whole quarters off since they have to wait for a class they need to be offered. What a pile of crap...

Before my team and I was laid off, we used to joke that the best thing about our job at AI was that the check didn't bounce. I'm sorry to see that isn't the case any longer.

Keep your head down. Don't volunteer to sub. Make an excuse if called on to sub. Avoid special events. They're going to take their sweet time to pay you, and if they declare bankruptcy, they won't. At this point, as an adjunct, being a hard working, giving employee is not worth your time and effort.

EDMC gives every indication that the end could come at any time. Just go in, teach your class, hold office hours and leave. Above all, avoid phone calls from work.

We're all just running out the clock.

This always happens before a company declares bankruptcy. They start inventing various excuses for delaying pay.
