Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Sorry that's upper west side...

I just started working for wfm this summer...I am in the upper way side NYC store..seems ok...its a little slow but it's summer...all of my fellow employees...um.. sorry... team members are telling me it's a bad store to work in and I should look to transfer out...the gm' seems pretty cool..does anybody no anything about this store and why the vibe is slightly off... what am I in for in this particular store?...is it a dog?

Worked 11 months there in 2015. Never had any problems. High pace but OK

Wow, you sure know a lot about the industry for a newbie. I'm surprised! Why are you fishing for people from your store to talk? Just talk to the people you work with about these things. Also, you sure are poking around a lot on this sight for a newbie. I wouldn't be at all surprised if you are in store leadership.

I got ya...store is a little pricey and the economy is still so shaky..plus other big markets are a stone's throw...not surprising...was wondering if anyone with experience working in this upper east side store has any insight into the depressing vibe here...or is it just biz as usual at wfm..doesn't seem like the "mentally" healthiest grocery store in america...lol😉

sales expectations aren't being met company wide. he's right, it's not just your store.

the company is really going downhill quickly, it's not just that store. sorry, i hate starting a new job and hearing bad news like that.

if i were you, i'd start looking for something else and just do your 6 months to a year (for your resume) and transfer out of the company.

don't let the toxic people that you'll inevitably meet get to you. just do your thing and move on.
