Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Has anyone heard of an EISP offer coming this week? I was told this Tuesday the 23rd. ...I don't believe it.

IBEW 827 website has it for NJ & PA. Also declared in Potomac region. Appears to be techs, central office people and other titles. http://ibew827.com/ http://cwa2222.org/index.cfm?zone=/unionactive/view_article.cfm&homeID=156067

It's 7 am on Tuesday. Announcements, anyone?

I think the first word usually comes from the financial advisor at the local union. Our guy sent us a big envelope this week, but it was just baseball tickets.

I haven't heard of this date! Does this come with reliable sources or people just wishing for one?

This has been the ongoing rumour. I won't believe it until it's in writing. I don't see them offering the 100,000. Unless there is a limit on how many would take it the whole place would practically go.

@IZxHxDm-1nmn , you don't understand much. That is the minimum. If the company needs more bodies to leave they can always enhance the package, of course the union will agree if it benefits those who want the package.

It is my understanding that the company no longer needs union approval when offering an EISP. It is in the new contract. Read the RTW agreement. It outlines the offering : 50k plus 2200 for every year worked up to 40.

If the company were to offer a 2 and 2 plus 100K which would be nice, wouldn't they need union approval being the EISP is union negotiated. I would be extremely suspicious with this rumor, if anything I would expect the traditional EISP. Although it would be nice for a lot of pre-2003 people and would make sense with all the new staff they are hiring to offer the 2 and 2 and 100K to get people off payroll from a higher rate with 4 to 5 weeks vacation to pay the lower rate with 2 weeks vacation.

Company wide or select titles? I heard offer will be in September. Do not know when off the payroll would be.

I heard that on 20 May 2016 the company is going to declare a lockout and hire all new workers and fire the strikers.
