We had a group mandatory retirement party since there were so many of us. We wanted to skip it, as none of where feeling particularly jubilant about being cattle-prodded out via ESP or VSP. We were told we 'had' to have it. Then I realized the party is like a funeral. More for the sake of the survivors than the deceased. So we spent as much Intel money as we could and smiled and said thank you's all around, but I don't think we came close to spending the whole allowance since the money was from several leavings. We found out later you are allowed to decline and donate the money to charity, but you can't get the money as a payout.

Ha ha, I share this sentiment :) I hate sounding greedy as I've already gotten an awfully nice chunk, but this isn't savin money, it's my fun money so I want it now! ha ha ha What to buy, what to buy, what to buy?
I wouldn't worry if it's not there EXACTLY 2 weeks your last day. I'd give it a little time.
And to the person trying to log in to check.... why bother? I never bothered to sign up as it was a huge hassle. Simply click on the "In a hurry?" link and put in your card info and zip code on the next screen and it'll give you your balance.

Yeah, I am still waiting on mine as well. I was told it would be $1k which would be nice. If it's 2 weeks after then I'll start looking or getting worried on or after July 8th as June 24th was official retirement date.
Same thing I heard from my manager... Two weeks from your last day.
My understanding is that they will load the vault card with money.

Yeah a few hundred dollars for 20+ years, what a caring company. I am told I can also have a retirement party paid by the boss that gave me SL4, Yeah at this point I'll take my severance and say goodbye to this messed up organization and company getting totally BK'd
