Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Yet another attempt by WFM to kill it's customers......

http://www.food.gov.uk/news-updates/news/2016/15275/whole-foods-market-recalls-chicken-salads-sandwiches Whole Foods Market recalls chicken salad products Posted on Jul 1, 2016

The recall specifically refers to Whole Foods Market’s Yummy Mum’s Chicken Salad Sandwiches on Granary, with a use-by date of 30th June 2016, its Mum’s Chicken Salad (Deli Pot, 180g, with a use-by date of 3rd July 2016, its Chicken Salad (sandwich on Turkish flat bread), with a use-by date of 30th June 2016, and it Picnic Mezze Set, 480g, with a use-by date of 2nd July 2016.

In a statement Whole Foods Market said: “We have identified Mum’s chicken salad products have been contaminated with a small amount of undercooked chicken. A 'SMALL AMOUNT' OF BACTERIA IS ALL IT TAKES. THAT'S LIKE SAYING 'WE JUST PUT A TINY BIT OF POISON IN YOUR FOOD'.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.” INCONVENIENCE? IS THAT WHAT DEADLY FOOD POISONING IS BEING CALLED NOW?

Customers who have purchased the product should not eat it and are advised to return it to store for a full refund. THAT IS, AS SOON AS THEY GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!

Advice to consumers : If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store where it was bought from for a full refund. AT THIS POINT, PERHAPS GOOD ADVICE WOULD BE TO NOT EAT ANYTHING MADE BY WHOLE FOODS MARKET---WHY TAKE CHANCES?

I'm not in the UK, but if the product is a private label item, then even if it's not technically produced on site, Whole Foods still could have done something about it by paying closer attention to how their private label food is being produced. Same thing with the Diestel chickens - Whole Foods allowed itself to be fooled by a made up fairy tale showroom farm designed specifically for inspection purposes while the factory farming went on behind the scenes. No one at Whole Foods turned their brain on and wondered how Diestel could produce the quantity of birds it was producing with natural techniques? Or maybe it was plausible deniability and they just wanted to be able to look the other way without a guilty conscience. Either way, it's pretty disgusting and it's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured due to Whole Foods' neglect.

Hey,

I work in the UK region where the recall was made and this is actually a vendor product, there was nothing WF could have done about this.

Sorry, I'm very critical of Whole Foods at the moment but I'm also fair!
