Dear OP: You either "couldn't be more happy" or "couldn't be happier." The "more happier" option isn't on the grammar table.
As for the doubters, this very thing HAD to happen to a good number of people, out of the thousands who lost their jobs. Of course - there HAVE to be people who took the money and then immediately got jobs, creating a bountiful overlap.
If you don't acknowledge that perfectly logical likelihood, you're clearly "more bitterer."
