I successfully made it through 14 layoffs over a 40 year career that started offshore as a roustabout and ended as a supervisor in the office. Didn't make it through the 15th but that's a good thing. It was time for me to go. Woke up this am and found Chevron had deposited a nice severance check in my bank account. Uncle Sam got a big chunk of it but is was still nice. Thanks Chevron.
Well us old timers like myself this was my 6th layoff I had lived thru.... it wasn't always a bed of roses for 37 years...
those that want it bad enough stick around until it gets better.
It's great for the old timers but there are many people at Chevron where their job was cut short and did not get 30+ years before being shown the door. What are they going to do in this environment.
It was 37 years for me.. no regrets... Texaco/Chevron provided for me and my family well.... now on to the next chapter...
I got mine in the mail on July 5th. After 30.7 years, I am done. It has been a good ride, no regrets!
It was in your bank account this AM. When did you return the direct deposit form. I returned mines on June 27, 2016. My severance form was accepted on June 16, 2017.
