Agree. Management has had NO accountability for the performance. Maybe Kirk S. , Doug D. Renee and the others were fired, but I doubt it.
Performance starts at the top and BK should have been canned already. The board of directors has behaved shamefully.
PCs should not be dying -- Intel has failed to develop sales channels in exceeding high growth markets and conceded TAM & MSS to competitors. Yes, layoffs are sometimes necessary, but if they are, the VPs and Directors should be the first to go, then the redundant employees. We have reverted to layoffs to mask poor company performance, i.e. announcing the layoffs on earnings day so BK could effectively divert the press from the real issues at hand -- a failing company strategy. Also, there are many other ways to reduce the workforce versus forced layoffs. In 2002 Intel offered VSP to nearly everyone -- it is more effective to let employees out of Intel this way versus what BK did. The standard focal process should be administered effectively enough to weed out the IRs without such radical actions like what we are seeing now.

Anyone that has been paying the least bit of attention to the marketplace knows that PCs are dying and the employee base cannot be supported by these dismal PC numbers.
Dang got almost 200K in my bank account, another 100K stock in options/RSU and healthcare thru 2017.

Figure out a way to sell more PCs and you won't have anymore layoffs. If sales go down, you cut people. This isn't rocket science. There's no grand mystery here.
Sure felt like a charity to me after receiving a rather nice package (I'm one that became eligible to retire early, but waited for charity, err.... I mean a package to be offered). And layoffs wouldn't be necessary ALL THE TIME if they had a better strategy. They seem to be flying by the seat of their pants (which are on fire at the mo').
