I think 2zir meant to say 10% "decrease" in workforce. What's increasing are the chances of more layoffs.

2zir, announced when? Looks like you are dreaming. Besides it is not what Chevron says, it is what the market says.

CVX announced a 10% increase in work force over the next 12-18 months. Open your eyes. We are doing great!

Getting back on track with the original topic, I predict that the remainder of 2016 will be fairly quiet until CVX concludes the actions set (being set) in place today are sorted.

November's election results has the potential to greatly affect everything from Wall St to WWIII! In short, expect a lot of potential volitility.

Closer to CVX's front porch, one thing certain is employees are an asset and will be reduced/increased according to business. That shouldn't surprise anyone because CVX propaganda internal and in adverts clearly labels employees as an "asset".

For those still on CVX payroll, take that into careful consideration when posting in future PDCs.

wpk, I see central banks in Europe and Japan down into negative interest rates and the US still nowhere near that disaster. In the grand scheme of things, we are still king of the hill. Why don't you enlighten the readers where you were going with that silly post of yours?

kvl, I used to work for CPL. I retired 10 years ago after a long career with pipeline. I'm sorry to hear of the deep cuts coming up this month. Everyone reapplying for their own jobs reminds me of the 1994 major reorg when Joe Martinelli was President and everyone below him had to apply for their own job and two others. It was a terrible time for all and one CPL virtually promised would never happen again. Sounds like history repeating itself. Best of luck.

They haven't been quirt.. CPL is in a ROM right now. Everyone is reapplyingoing for their jobs this month. The new org charts cut alot of positions out. It'll be interesting to see who's left standing.

If oil price sinks into 30s by 4th qtr, expect another ROM/ESP to take out 10 to 15% across the board next spring. I dont know how many expats are left. But it will be brutal.

All employees are deadwood walking. There are around 1500-2000 additional people to be let go or retired this year to meet the 2016 reductions of 6000 full time, regular employees.

They will cutting out plenty more of the dead-wood posters on this site using terms like "butthurt" so that the normal employees can work without the dead weight to carry.
