Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Tm

Whole Foods will have nore layoffs at the beginning of next year due to department consolidations at the store level. This will affect anywhere between 4-5 people depending on the sales volume of the store. So far there is no mention of a severance package for those loosing their jobs. Not a lot of positive stuff happening at Whole Foods right now. I have not seen anything in the media about this but it is true!

It's done deal. If you are a high paid team member in whole body or specialty your days are counted! Grocery/WB/ specialty combo will definitely lay off team members. Meat / seafood combo also will affect some team members!! No severance this time....

LOL But but of course that won't stop our esteemed leaders from carrying out their layoff plans...before they realize that they still need all those trained people because the technology isn't ready yet and won't be anytime soon. At that point the thousands of people they need to make a WELL-MANAGED huge technology transition actually WORK will be long gone...quit, fired, laid off. Note that I said well-managed.

The only part I find unlikely is "IRMA is going away." For that to happen, a bridge will need to be built from the existing systems (a hot mess tied to together with wet duct tape) to a new collection of systems. It is highly unlikely that this circus run by unqualified nincompoops can successfully pull that off in any kind of orderly way and in a reasonable time frame. OK, yes, IRMA is going away (someday), just like someday we'll have world peace and daily flights to Mars.

Yes it is. It's happening at the beginning of next year. Also irma is going away, some stores like mine are getting these new registers that track sold items and re order them. No need for Buyers eventually.

I think the more exclamation points you use makes your statement more credible.

We were told that stores around $600,000 and below will be affected. The talk had been about stores in the $400 range would be but they are going above that. The first posting will be around December for Grocery/WB/Specialty. This is no BS. I know some regions are handling this different but I am sure this will be a global push.

That's when the official combining for stores under 400k will happen, end of Q1.
