Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Hiring freeze... again

So if you happen to be in a transitioning team, with a recently opened atl or to position, you are stuck now. No atl or tl hiring for at least 6 months, maybe a year. Increased workload on already overworked teams means more will quit for sure...update your resumes, folks.

"We phased out the dishwasher position"

But where will the next generation of South regional presidents come from without dishwashers? What's next, sandwich makers too?!

-1dwa, that makes zero sense. Dishwashers are VITAL, plus they're normally not highly paid positions. What in the world is going on at your store? I would quit.

We phased out the dishwasher position so now everyone begrudgingly has to wash lexans, bowls, sheet trays, utensils etc as they are needed. The result is nothing is getting cleaned properly and everything has a sheen of grease or filth and so roaches have returned in force. STL's response " just going to have to do a better job". It's a matter of time before a negative health inspection.

Go talk to everyone you know, tell them you're looking for an opportunity, apply all over the place. You may have to take a step back to a lower level but you'll be OK if you have a positive attitude about it. If you stay in retail work for one the top 5 names in customer service surveys. BTW, we're number 38 or something like that. The companies that take care of their customers take care of their people. In retail grocery the top 3 are consistently Wegman's, Publix and Trader Joe's. They may trade positions but those are the top 3. I met a dude who mostly specialized in wine at TJs a couple of years ago and he said it's a good company, growing, organized, pay was fair, not perfect but he got to do different jobs and enjoyed the work.
