Verizon Corporate Jet Fleet

The bigger issue with the corporate jet fleet, is why they even have a fleet of jets to scurry these executives all over the globe?

There are at least five corporate jets, with a purchase price in excess of $35M each. Then, there is the maintenance cost for each jet, the hangars, the fuel, landing fees, the admin staff and the standby pilots - this is an enormous expense for VZ.

Its also ridiculous that former retired senior officers also have access to the fleet and are entitled to buzz around on the corporation's dime. Yeah, I know, time is of the essence - but not buying that argument for a minute - it is excessive.

That fleet should be downsized too, just like all the jobs that were downsized.

It's a big company. Big companies have corporate jets... That's why they call them corporate jets... A whole lot of smaller companies have more jets per employee. Each of you can be kings on the chess board if you choose, but you choose to be pawns... simple as that... Stop complaining about those who figured out how to play the game... Each of you have choices to be any character in the chess game of life...

CWA has jets also, nobody says anything about that.

GTE had quite the jet fleet back in the day. I applied for a pilot position years ago, and included my stats from MS' Combat Flight Simulator. I was never contacted. True story.

The big execs will need more jets so they can visit their new employee zoo in Mumbai, Texas (which will be a new 3rd world country located not too far from Dallas)

Why don't the execs eat their own dog food and schedule conference calls/webex meetings instead of burning carbon every week. Then, they want to know why their enterprise services don't sell....

I believe they have six now. How bout renting a private jet for these bozos if they really need it. Lowell was actually given frequent flyer points on the company plane. Something like 150K worth. Nice to be the King

Because execs who make millions would be wasting a lot of the company's money getting to airports two hours early, waiting on flight delays, having to work their itineraries around flight schedules, getting to the destination all exhausted and delaying departure again for flight schedules. And corporate jets are really cool. And you can never have too many.
