Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Bluemix problems?

Why is it crashing so often? I mean, besides the obvious, what's the problem with Bluemix?

Seems like at least twice a week now we have issues, something gets seriously broken and takes down my apps, or the whole interface just goes 404 on me.

It's kinda embarrassing how bad this is, and it's gotten to the point where even the accounts I work with have commented on its spotty availability.

Outside, IBM sells AI, Analytics, Cloud, Watson, and all revolutionary technologies, that no one knows how to use, however, if you go inside IBM, 90% of employees are using Excel. Believe it or not, they are still giving awards to employees for Excel vba scripts calling it "automation". Also, almost everyone uses Lotus Notes garbage, that in 2017 still requiring you to have an .id file to let you authenticate on ID. The file has the password encryption on it, and you can't use an id, that you stored years ago, as it won't authenticate! Yeah, seems that they never heard about remote authentication. More over, IBM Only promotes "Managers". If you want to get promoted, you have to became a Manager. A Genius IT will be left alone, if he/she does not want to became a "Leader", that basically just send/receive email and uses Excel. And worst, if you don't know anything about IT, Programing, Ai...go to the "Leader" carrer, and voilá! you will be fast promoted

Bless Rometty for all she has done to IBM as it is driven into the ground by providing second rate services to its customers yet reaping her larger personal rewards.

Amazon is a leader in cloud services while IBM is in last place.

During a required IBM cloud training series in 2014 from an outside vendor, IBM wasn't on the list of cloud providers. What does that tell you?

And then there is Watson Analytics which had its own set of issue with data volume...

Its like alot of the other applications with similar problems within IBM. They offshored the work to 17 year old programmers who dont know what they are doing, no disrespect for them but you get what you pay for. In our department we have had outages that lasted over a week and all productivity lost and our manager was trying to get people to use VA days instead of sitting around. This is what happens when you let key people go who know what they are doing and of course it does not help when those key people screw up the code on the way out the door.
