Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Volunteer RIF

I am hearing Honeywell wide, they are asking for 30,000 heads....came in an internal email. This is the "India effect". Honeywell folks, you need to jolt Wild Dave Cody.....walk out. Vote with your feet. See if India can pick up the slack

I might be wrong but think the RIF is coming soon (next week ?). We already had people turned down for volunteer RIF . I think its more they were so close to retiremnet that management did not want to give them the benefit of severance pay . We had one Quality Engr delay retiring 1 month before when first hearing about applying for RIF . So she delayed it, only to be turned down this week so she just got her stuff together and left.

The actual statement in the email is "The industry has experienced more than 30,000 job reductions in the last year...". Take note of the word "industry". This is different than what the OP said.

The OP is meaning an email that went out which states that there has been a reduction of 30,000 heads across the company in the past year. That email doesn't give a number of heads expected to roll in the upcoming layoff; but it does explicitly state that, whether you volunteer or not, the benefits are the same.

I.E. no packages.

Honeywell is not just Areospace there are many more divisions so 30k could be right.

If you take off a zero, your number is the average number of heads people have posted earlier. 3000 sounds right. Not 30000.

Aren't there only like 40,000 Aerospace employees?
