Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Should have seen it coming.

When working people vote for the GOP, this is what they should expect. If you work for a living DO NOT vote for people who will take money from your bosses in order to write tax incentives for your bosses to move your jobs overseas. A working man voting for a republican is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders

Give it up Hillary. Sentient people know you and Bill have been selling out America since the 90's. If they don't believe it, look at the Uranium you sold to the Russians and put Metropolis Works out of business.

"Washington dumps smothering regulations on the economy. Government strangles production and manufacturing through added costs and uncertainty" - This is a minor issue that would not bring many jobs back to America. The underlying issue is greed! This battle is truly the Rich Oligarchy against the middle class. They want us to make it a Republican/Democrat, Conservative/Liberal issue so the focus is off of them. The rules around corporation need to be addressed. They need to start paying their fare share of taxes and have import quota's that have a sliding tariff schedule. Only 15% of the US population invests in the stock market because they have just enough to live on. Only that 15% benefits from corporate profits. The legalized gambling in the security industry needs to be drastically curtailed. The richest 1% may employ some, but if they are getting wealthier then they are taking that wealth from the middle and lower classes. Time for people to stop dividing ourselves around political beliefs and organize around the American people. Neither party wants to find an answer to this problem because their slush funds (political contributors) will dry up.

This is just corporate fascism, and it's across the board. The political class has sold us out. Get out of the matrix. Build the wall, end the illegal immigration that the big conglomerates love because it suppresses wages, cancel NAFTA, CAFTA, TPP, Obamacare, and take the country back from the elitists and banisters who would rather line their pockets than be forced to actually compete. Trump 2016.

The government can protect American jobs by incentivizing US hires and/or taxing globally outsourced labor. Why do you think that's not happening? Because the government is controlled by the corporations. How all these engineers at HWL can't Do the math blows my mind. When Cote was sending political emails, ppl ate it up, yeah blame Obama, contribute to the PAC! Only an idiot thinks that what is good for Cote is also good for them.

From patton oswalt (admittedly a liberal)

"The thing I don't understand is people who support George Bush and who aren't billionaires, like that makes no sense to me. 'I think George Bush is awesome,' I'm like 'Wow, how much do you make? You must be like a billionaire?' And they go, 'I make, like, 30 grand a year,' and I'm like, 'Wow, 'cause Bush hates you, did you know that? He cannot stand you, he wouldn't be caught dead with you!'"

You are blaming the wrong faction - it's rich vs. poor, not Republican vs. Democrat. There are tons of poor Republicans and Democrats across the board. Why hold onto some silly political identity when you see your brother, a hard worker from the opposite faction, getting laid off just the same as yourself while your rich bosses laugh and collect their bonuses.

The old (and well-paid) are getting slashed at every company across every industry, while cheap, energetic fresh grads and immigrants are being hired to replace them. I expect to see the same happen at Honeywell.

Honeywell is laying off while everyone else is hiring like crazy. Sounds like issues with the management/CEO not the government.

According to Obama, the economy and jobs market is doing great. If you're layed off, you must be a lazy azz idiot.

This is exactly right. Too many people have heard the talking points repeated too often and vote against their own economic well being. Republicans do nothing for the middle class and the working poor. Our tax dollars have to subsidize people working full time at Wal-Mart and that's complete B.S. Get smart working Republicans and realize what they're really voting for in Congress, not the B.S. they feed you to blame everything on Mexicans and the poor.

"Washington dumps smothering regulations on the economy. Government strangles production and manufacturing through added costs and uncertainty. Lawyers and judges have allowed ridiculous and frivolous lawsuits to strangle industry. Businesses cannot plan and investors will not risk their money when regulation and the business climate are constantly changing. Businesses require certainty.

Unless the Democrats’ War on Business ends, nothing will save the U.S. economy. According to Time Magazine, the USA now has the highest corporate tax rate in the world"

Do some research on cheap labor and the incentives coming from other countries. Then do some research on TPP. Then do some research on the environmental regulations on business in the US vs. other countries. Somewhere in there you will find your answers.
