Instead of demanding the return of the 44 laid off technicians before ending the strike, you stuck it right in their @sses. Now they can either return as part-time technicians with no benefits or test for a $hit job in the fsc or business office. In the meantime, Verizon is going to be hiring 60 new part-time technicians for $hit pay and no benefits, to take away the majority of the overtime from the existing technicians who enjoy working the extra hours for more money. Is the CWA trying to completely destroy it's membership at Verizon or are they just flat out stupid?

The level of their compensation is not earned, it is stolen by men, and women that are controlled strictly, and entirely by Wall Street. Verizon is a hugely profitable company, that has revenues in the billions, I feel the executives thinking is, I'm going to steel as much as i can. Unfortunately, these are our leaders.
Will you now discuss the sickening level of compensation "earned" by our executives who are basically running the ship aground?

@zrt, you're obviously highly educated, however, given is the correct usage, not giving. Also, a comma not a period would be placed after the word life. The one part of your statement that's correct, we EARN what we are paid and if you think that the majority earn over $100k, you need to do better research. By the way, the main topic was the loss of good paying, full time positions. No one said anything about not being well paid. On second thought, maybe you're not so educated after all.
@uaf Giving the education level that most of the Union members reached, by their own choice in life. Earning well over 100,000 dollars per year is exceptionally well. Don't think so? well then leave......See you Monday.
@wwd, not sure what planet you've been living on, but we've been losing our @sses for the last 4 contracts. The only winners are the corporations and the bigwigs in charge of hiding their corruption. What everyone seems to refuse to admit to themselves, is that when unions were strong and there wasn't such class inequality, the economy and the U.S. were flourishing. Now the entire country is a complete mess because so few control so much.
I think the point is the Union one way or the other always wins. That's what frustrates so many non -Union employees.
Also the agreement of the 2003 contract was that anyone hired after 2003 are not part of the job protection clause, so unfortunately Vz did not violate any contractual obligations, meaning there will not be any arbitration.
You actually have to file for arbitration to win an arbitration claim. It has not been filed. A claim like this is a matter of public record. It's all about numbers. In 2003 the # laid off represented a substantial # of employees. The 2015 laid off are 1/10th of 1% of total membership. The union is a business and won't spend the money on so few
Sit tight 44 on July 11 2003 through a arbitrators ruling, CWA successfully fought, and won the jobs of 2,300 "laid off" members. It take's time but they won all the jobs, and through that victory, Verizon was forced make the all Union members that were laid off, whole, (back pay)
This is not a problem for the majority of members, so they figured is not an issue
