Knowing that a 9am-5pm grade 7 or 8 SSL4 with a BA in HR is not the same as someone working 24/7 with a PhD in PTD. Just curious, since BK comes from the fab he knows very well this "minor" differences.

@ mjw - you nailed it. I've seen several incompetent managers hire and promote equally incompetent people. These "manager favorite" idiots are parasites who live off the hard work and achievements of their "non manager favorite" peers.
Idiots tend to hire and promote those most similar to themselves. So, BK depending on his stupid minions is no surprise.
OP, you assume to much! BK is San Jose state graduate and his IQ can't approach that of many of his PHD PEs.
Sadly Intel is being led by an idiot who can easily be fooled by his subordinates and consultants.

BK asked Bain to come up with a formula that allowed them plausibly fire old employees first with the highest priority on old white men.
This isn't a random happenstance. This want any a discussion on how to move out people based on stock level. This year's and last year's firings were based on asking for the end game - "fire old employees white men first" and then creating the algorithm that produced the desired outcome.
A class action lawsuit is coming to a town near you. Can Intel say, "Age Discrimination"? It's coming.
