Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Career changes

I know a guy who was screwed over by Weatherford so badly he's going to law school.. anyone else use the layoffs as a jump start on another career?

I have started a company that sells cow manure as fertilizer. Weatherford is the single source supplier of my product. In fact, there is so much BS created in their conference rooms, that, I have multiple crews on a daily basis enter and shovel the sh1t. Sometimes it is knee high.

Well I invested what I had left into my motorsport garage and decide to just go for it. After leaving in March 2016 or been asked to leave, call it what you like things have been great. I dont make as money but at least we are making money and things are going well. I was not happy about having to leave but the last year at WFT was very sad state of affairs. Lots of friends had gone over the 16 month down turn and its was like lights out time and close the doors. I am honeslty glad to have walked away.

I will return to industry but for now I am just enjoying doing what I am doing. I dont miss all the flying from place to place, endless hoop jumping and playing the game. In fact I havent yet ro miss anything. Maybe I go back but or I go back as small buiness service. After working at WFT you can be pretty hard core if you use all BS exoeriance to your own gain.

With all of the job skills that I have acquired from Weatherford, I hope to land a job as a roofer in Texas this summer.
