Soon 3-5% of your friends and colleagues will be shown the door with no chance of improvement. Performance management, you don't stack up, you don't do the right politics, you and your family are fired. Won't mater if you are 6 months, 6 years or 60 years old. Intel cares only to get rid of 3-5% a year than ACT2 and ACT3 will come and 10-20% will go.
Forget working hard, this company don't care one, manager must meet distribution from SLM and up. Beware and get your linkedin and resumes ready bottom dwellers of every grade.
Pass/fail? Don't you mean Pass/ISP? There's a new concept... no more overnight 1:1s landing onyour calendar. Instead you leave your focal meeting and go back to work, or walk out the front door leaving your badge and laptop behind.

In school I loved pass fail classes. Usually all that was required was a little smile for with the professor and maybe some light reading an hour before the test. Signing up for pass fail allowed more time for other priorities
Hopefully this will allow more time for real work and less 360, 3x3x3, 69, writing my own review to help guide the boss, ... will intel actually focus more on work output now? We can hope.
