Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

STLs, ASTLs, TLs, no more.

Here is new information that will be completely hidden from you until it is too late. No matter what you think you have the right to know thiswill be happening in the near future and it will happen without warning regardless of how secure you think you are. STLs are currently to be used to merge teams and get everything simplified. Unknowingly they are clearing their path to unemployment. As soon as everything is stripped stores will either be sold, turned into Trader Joes knock offs or lower paid coordinators whose positions are getting eliminatedwill move in as STLs for much lower wages. ASTLs will be either let go or become one of two TLs in the store for much lower wages, while everyone else will be stripped of titles and will be classified by FT or PT designation and will be given a dollar over market depending on geography. Really watch closely as STLs ASTLs and TLs slowly get filtered out here and there for odd reasons until the mass shift hits without warning. Welcome to Wall Street and to a company that is being liquidated. Try not to stress and try to be nice to all your fellow TMs. Give them positive energy and give them respect as soon you will all be job hunting together and will need one another. Because like someone said in an earlier post: you meet the same people on the way up as you do on the way down.

Thank you for this timely warning. I've long thought that WFM was hoping for a buyer for the legacy stores, which of course hasn't happened since who in their right mind wants to buy a sinking ship? Barring that, they're hoping 365 will be so wildly successful that it will keep the Titanic afloat which is highly unlikely. In the meantime they are cutting costs, especially labor costs (which means everyone's jobs) like crazy. Get in a lifeboat while you still can. I did and it was the best decision I could have made.

I guess the answer is no. No they do not want to chip in. Imagine that?

Anybody from regional or global want to chip in? Is this true or just conspiracy?

There is no need in their minds for every store to have an STL with two or more ASTLs. Consolidation will continue until it can't continue any more. This is why my former STL left just before all the big layoffs began. He knew they would start delegating his ASTLs to run smaller stores in the metro, requiring him to work more hours at his own store and take on responsibility (either formally or informally) for other metro area stores. He was highly successful at building sales and TM ownership of our store, and the price to be paid for all his bonuses was to be saddled with more responsibility whether he wanted it or not. Well, he didn't. After watching his stock plummet almost 50% he left. BTW he was also fed up with the failure of the "Metro SSI" and "Metro PBS" system to properly address our needs. He always said privately that the company was constantly putting the cart before the horse when it came to technology planning. Lots of talk, lots of promises, no results.

-1nqf, do you mind divulging your source for the 3-year Plan? Like, did it come from global/regional, or somewhere else? Thanks.

Reading this, understanding there still aren't facts here, I still feel dread because it makes so sense to to do this in the way. This past year has been one heck of a ride, but I knew it wasn't over... it was just beginning. I hope everyone can find a good exit from all this. Jeez.

I have been saying this all along.... I wouldn't be surprised if we were picked up by ALDI. If you don't know who they are, start investigating. Go to their career page. That is the model WF/365 is aiming for.

All of these changes are not to make us more competitive... They are to make us more attractive to some other company. Mackey and Robb are cashing out... And they are using us to do it.

Like another poster said... Keep on keepin' on.... And keep on looking for your next job opportunity.

Someone asked "how long?"... Have you all heard of the 3 year plan? That's how long... Tops

Reread 5 times looking for facts, found none. I'll notch this post to the venting pile. Please come back when you have something to contribute.
