If you care about your work, then that's your work and not the company. You'd just be proud of yourself and not some company.
If you care about the pay, then that's your pay and still not the company. When the pay stops, then you simply move to some other place that pays.
If you care about your coworkers, then that's the people and not the company.
Your gnashing of teeth would cease if you cease to care about some abstract entity that's incapable of emotions.
@iwfr: It's corporate stash and none of ours, so has little to do with us. Think back even before all the money was wasted on all these billions in purchases, were any of that extra lavished on the rest of us during the "good times"? Nope. Even if there's more money in the vault, it means nothing to us peons.
The so-called "bonus" is simply a part of the salary unless one believes in the kool aid. It's how the company can avoid ACTUALLY giving everyone permanent meaningful raises.
Thus, something like "do we get a bonus this time?" would be a dumb question unless someone believes that after all this crap that happens the company could bring itself to slash all our salaries to boot.
It's just such a waste, such a shame...
