Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell Phoenix

Hearing today that aerospace will be selecting the people to be played off not by job performance or seniority but by salary. Management was told they had to reduce by 15 percent. Not in body count but by department cost.

Would not surprise me if salary was a determining factor, would also suggest why the Managers and Directors are awaiting word from HR on how many and who is affected. They have been lowering the job posting levels for people leaving/retiring for a few years now. Also Sub-contracting out portions of the company for years, rumor is the Buyers are going to Infosys next. Saves the company from paying benefits.

Usually but not always the employees that been here awhile have the higher salary , unless you talking about tier 5 managers will be targeted.

To all my friends at Honeywell,

Hang in there, and don't let it get you down. It's just business.

Call me when you get a chance.

And tell Cartman I said "Respect my authoritah!"

Sincerely,

Cool Arrow

What defines department cost? Like an aggregated salary of all employees on a specific team? Or SBU? Does anyone know the target level of what is meant by department?
