Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The ARMy is going to take down servers having taken phones which PSO declined, LOL

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3109981/arm-has-a-new-weapon-in-race-to-build-worlds-fastest-computers.html

WIth softbanks investment, China's push to control their own high end computing means no x86 in the largest market on earth. Be assured ARM will slowely but surely take over server business.

The larger volumes will feed process cadence at TSMC/Samsung based on the billions of phones, and by 10nm they will beat Intel, that is exactly the same MO that Intel did to Motorola, DEC, IBM and the other big semiconductor boys 20 years ago... CRB, PSO, and BK are so stupid to not have seen it, the board was so stupid to not demand a response, and now it is to late.

Intel stock at 30 bucks in 2017 and 15 bucks in 2018 and 50K employees in 2018 if they are luck enough to get 10nm out by 2018

Sorry IoT, VR, 5G, memory aren't going to cut it at 70K employees!

"ACT wasn't the answer to Intel's current woes. It was ill thought out and more poorly executed and only shows how stupid and out of touch senior management is."

Amen.

ACT only makes sense in the context of desperation and cluelessness. The Emperors have no clothes.

Intel is a big and complicated enough company that finances can be manipulated to appear OK for awhile. But prevailing market forces, waste, bad investments and competition will catch up eventually.

It's gonna be uglier than it already is...

Intel offers a space shuttle solution to everything (servers, PC, IOT) with VGA type graphics when a souped-up Volkswagen with kick a-- graphics is all that is needed - hence ARM. RIP Intel.

What's ironic is that between Sprint and ARM, Softbank is literally building their position from Intel's leavings- Clearwire and XScale. For about the same price as Mcafee and Altera and the rest of the anticompetitive maneuvering of the past decade.

Chromebooks, lots and lots of chromebooks, and not the contra-revenue Intel kind. A superphone and a chromebook is all a kid needs to go to college these days. Intel has lost an entire generation.

I'm waiting for the android and iOS laptops that will accelerate the decline.

PSO was/is so stupid. Not only for snubbing iPhone but also for his Dell email shenanigans that cost the company billions in legal settlements. His punishment? A golden parachute and a nice mansion in San Francisco.

They need to figure out how to leverage this current strengths and discard the true garbage at the company

things like Raspberry Pi are accelerating the rot from within- that thing compiles my code twice as fast as my haswell 2in1; meanwhile all the OWG x86 assembler coders took the package. "America's Greatest Makers"? Too little too late. Should have listened to us 10 years ago BK when you were conniving up SET.
