Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Does anyone have any work to do?

Everyone I know is doing nothing. Most have no projects to do currently. Some might have some projects that are done for very minor customers or really just for some "possible future use". I don't see any real work done anywhere. Furthermore, nobody seems to have any projects coming in the future. The time at the office is just waiting for the news about further layoffs.

How do you guys pass the time at the office? Is there anything useful to do? I know there are some courses in the Internet you could do (I'm not talking about the compulsory crap but the Lynda courses etc.)

No disrepect but wasting 50k is NOTHING compared to what goes on. It's so hard to watch BK, the BoD, and our so called leaders literally lighting money on fire and watching it burn in the street, and then forcing FLMs to hire in the low cost geo du jour and struggle with how to get any actual work done.

That's it: my old colleague is re-doing a PPT based on inane input of our stupid manager in anticipation of a presentation at an internal decision-forum for like $50K of funding for a project that makes no sense.

Don't worry. In the absence of meaningful work, people can stay busy on internal BS.

Im busy doing work that should be automated. I would love to work on that skill set and put myself out of a stupid job and into a new one.

Well, if they hadn't taken all the wall clocks away as cost cutting measures (I kid you not. Admins came unglued when they took all the clocks away and their response was it's a cost cutting measure), people would at least have something to watch.
